The College Life

This portfolio contains selected works from my years at Hampshire College, located in Amherst, Massachusetts. Hampshire is an experimenting college, meaning that we tend to do things a teensy bit differently than most others. There are three general phases in a Hampshire Education, beginning with Division I (preliminary studies) and continuing on to Division II (a concentration), and Division III (an advanced project).

I am currently a Division III student working on an advanced project that will somehow incorporate type design, typography, graphic design, and aesthetic theory. In addition to the myriad of academic work that I do at Hampshire, I am involved in various extra-curricular activities such as The Reader (a literary magazine) and The Climax (the campus newspaper), all of which is confusingly located in the nonacademic Work section of this site.

So peruse the portfolio at your leisure. You can get a lot just from skimming a lot of the longer blocks of text. Included as well (often to my embarrasment) are the written evaluations that I received from my professors (no grades at Hampshire). Classes with assignments that are something other than papers are marked with a Glyph of Coolness Cool!.
